Came across this awesome portrait of Osamu Tezuka, the “God of Manga”! It’s the first name you’ll probably come across in any search regarding the history of anime and manga.
No matter what anime or manga you watch or read, there’s a 99.9% chance that if you follow it’s origin and inspiration, you’ll be lead right back to Tezuka, the guy’s sheer output and genre exploration is literally the stuff of legends, as in the guy created 700 manga with a total of 150,000 pages throughout his career and without question the single most influential figure in manga/anime history.
